Israel’s Knesset is poised to swear in its first openly gay member when it reconvenes next month. The Meretz Party announced Wednesday that Tel Aviv University chemistry professor Uzi Even, 61, will succeed outgoing legislator Amnon Rubinstein, who is retiring from politics.
