Israel’s Labor Party proposed leasing West Bank settlement blocs from the Palestinian Authority. Alon Pinkas, a former Israeli consul general in New York now running as a Labor candidate in upcoming elections, said Wednesday that the idea of a long-term lease of the Ariel, Gush Etzion and Ma’aleh Adumim settlement blocs likely would be incorporated into the party’s election platform.
