Israel’s outgoing ambassador to Romania has withdrawn his request for Romanian citizenship. Sandu Mazor, whose term as ambassador was up on Sunday, was sharply criticized in Israel in the wake of his request for Romanian citizenship. After leaving office, he is slated to manage an Israeli investment company in Romania and had asked Romanian authorities for citizenship, believing it would facilitate his business activities.
