Israel’s recently retired national security adviser came out against the West Bank withdrawal plan. Giora Eiland, who stepped down as head of Israel’s National Security Council last week, told Ha’aretz in an interview published Sunday that he was opposed to the way in which last year’s Gaza Strip pullout was executed and felt Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s vision of similar moves in the West Bank would not produce peace with the Palestinians.
