Israel’s Security Cabinet approved by a narrow 5-3 vote the withdrawal maps for the upcoming handover of 6.1 percent of West Bank land to the Palestinians. Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat later accepted the maps after rejecting previous Israeli withdrawal proposals. Israel’s full Cabinet still has to vote on the maps, a move expected Sunday.
