Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians led some British Muslims to go fight for the Taliban, London’s mayor said. Ken Livingstone said in a newspaper interview Saturday that those Muslims who went to Afghanistan to fight for the Taliban should not face prosecution when they return home. “We’ve got to accept that these people went off because of a deep sense of injustice about what’s happening in Israel and the West Bank,” Livingstone told The Daily Telegraph. “Of course, I disagree with them, but there are only about a dozen of them.”
