The Italian radio station at Bari, in one of its Arabic news broadcasts, reported today that Palestine High Commissioner Sir Arthur Grenfell Wauchope, in a last effort to pacify the Arabs before his retirement, in order to facilitate the work of the new Palestine Commission, had visited Syria incognito and consulted with the exiled ex-Mufti of Jerusalem regarding release of Arab leaders interned on the Seychelles Islands and others held elsewhere.
