The Union of Italian Jewish Communities today informed the Federation of Jewish Societies of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, that Professor Nicola Pende–who is at present in Brazil on a lecture tour–was among the first signatories of the Fascist “Manifesto della Razza” (program of racial discrimination.)

Brazilian Jewish organizations had cabled to the Union for information regarding the background of Professor Pende, in view of the objections raised to his presence in Brazil by both Jewish and non-Jewish groups. Professor Pends is a member of the faculty at the University of Rome. He is an expert in the field of endocrinology.
