Italy’s deputy prime minister, on a visit to Israel, denounced his country’s fascist past and its complicity in the Holocaust. At Yad Vashem on Monday, Gianfranco Fini said he lamented “the shameful pages that are in our past history.” Fini has sought to distance his National Alliance Party from its fascist roots.
