Italy’s highest criminal court upheld the conviction of a former SS officer for war crimes committed at a Nazi concentration camp in Italy. In its ruling Tuesday, the Court of Cassation also upheld the life sentence of Michael Seifert, a Canadian citizen of Ukrainian origin who was convicted in absentia. Italy is seeking the extradition of Seifert, who lives in Vancouver.
