More Jewish refugees emigrated during the first three months of this year to the United States, Latin American countries and British dominions than in any similar period since the end of World War II, it was announced here today by the European head quarters of the Joint Distribution Committee.
The announcement said that the J.D.C. helped 5,021 Jews to leave Europe during the first quarter of this year. Of them 3,725 went to the United States, 689 to Australia and New Zealand and 457 to Canada and 150 to Latin America. A large volume of emigration is expected during the second quarter of this year.
