J.N.F. Names New Governing Board of 41 Members

Prominent leaders of all shades of opinion, representing every active group in the American Zionist movement, are among the members of the board of directors of the Jewish National Fund of America, elected this week to the Fund’s governing Board, at the annual meeting provided for in the by-laws of the Fund, which is incorporated under the laws of the State of New York as an American branch of the Keren Kayemeth le Israel, with headquarters in Jerusalem. Forty-one members were elected, although the by-laws provide for 45 directors to compose the Board. The four vacancies will be filled in soon, it was stated.

While all Zionist groups are represented on the Board, the largest representation is accorded to the Zionist Organization of America, which nominates ten members. An equal number of directors at large, representing the Jewish public was also chosen. Out of the ten candidates nominated by the Zionist Organization of America, seven are members of its own Administrative Committee.

The following were chosen as the representatives of the Zionist Organization of America: Messrs, Robert Szold, Emanuel Neumann, Rabbi Louis I. Newman, Nelson Ruttenberg, Bernard A. Rosenblatt, Ephraim Caplan, Abraham Goldberg, Sol Lamport, Louis Lipsky and Harry J. Kahn.

Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization is represented by Miss Naomi Flax, Miss Eudice Elkind and Miss Rachel Natelson. For the Mizrachi, the orthodox Zionist Organization: Rabbi Nachman H. Ebin, Rabbi Wolf Gold, Rabbi B. W. Greenberg, Rabbi E. Inselbuch, Harry Karp, Rabbi I. M. Kowalsky and Samuel Wilner.

The Poale Zion, Zionist Labor Party, nominated the following directors: Messrs. S. Bonchek, M. Brown, H. Ehrenreich and B. Zuckerman. The Zeire Zion, Zionist Labor Party, selected the following as its representatives: Messrs. A. Brenner, L. Glantz, A. Spierer and D. Wertheim. The Order Sons of Zion, a fraternal Zionist organization, nominated the following: Messrs. Heinrich Abramowitz, David Podolsky and Hyman Danelson. The directors at large are: Rev. Z. H. Masliansky, Messrs. Louis Rimsky, Isaac H. Rubin, David Surdut, Isaac Hamlin, Joseph Weiss, Louis Segal, Miss Lea Biskin, Morris Kramer and Dr. B. Rabalsky.
