Because he invented “quotations” from the Talmud to prove that the Jews were preparing for the annihilation of the Christian world, Edward Chowanski, editor of the Polish Nazi Journal Blyskawica, today was sentenced to serve a nine months prison term and to pay the costs of the trial and 200 zlotys in damages to the Jewish community board.
Chowanski’s citizenship rights were also suspended, for a three-year period.
The verdict came after a two-day trial.
