Energetic steps with a view to persuading the Roumanian government to put an end to the anti-Semitic excesses were taken at a meeting of leading Jewish personalities in Jassy, a despatch received here states.

The meeting decided to send a demand to the government urging it to take energetic steps to prevent a recurrence of the excesses.

Eight hundred Jewish citizens who are members of the Averescu party despatched a telegram to the Prime Minister, in which they declare they will leave the party if the excesses reoccur.
