Leopold Jessner, well-known German-Jewish theatre manager and superintendent of the State Theatre, will in all probability have to resign from this position as a result of a resolution adopted yesterday by the main committee of the Prussian Diet.
The committee adopted a resolution of lack of confidence in Jessner, following charges which were presented that his views on the theatre “endanger the moral standard.”
This move of the Diet committee is the climax of agitation carried on for many years by reactionary and nationalist elements against Jessner.
