The Jewish Agency for Palestine yesterday received a report revealing that tens of thousands of Jews in Nazi-occupied Poland are being exterminated by orders of a special “Exterminating Office” set up under the supervision of the Gestapo.

The report, emanating from reliable sources, was taken up at today’s weekly meeting of the executive of the Jewish Agency and it was decided to issue an appeal to the people of the world describing the Nazi-mass slaughter of the Jews. A sub-committee was appointed at the meeting to draft the appeal. Simultaneously it was decided that all the Hebrew newspapers in Palestine should carry the harrowing report in all its details on the front page, enclosed within black-borders.

The report states that a special “Vernichtungs Kommission” – an Exterminating Commission is supervising the work of annihilating the Jews all over Poland, Members of the commission are visiting various parts of Poland in order to direct the mass-slaughter of the Jewish population and the destruction of the Jewish communities. The commission has its office in Warsaw and its head, Commissar Fey, is directly responsible to Heinrich Himmler, chief of the Gestapo who visited Poland last Spring to draw up pleas for the Extermination Office.
