The reports state that unidentified hooligans invaded the Jewish cemetery in Memel, locked up the caretaker in his cabin so as not to give him the opportunity of reporting the invasion to the police, and demolished a number of tombstones, while desecrating the 26 graves.
The police started an investigation with the hope of finding those guilty of this misdemeanour.
