The provincial government of Baden-Wuerttemberg has approved a proposal that it should indemnify former Jewish officials and employees of Jewish communal institutions whose assets were seized by the Nazis. Payments will commence soon and will be maintained until Federal indemnification and compensation laws come into force.
The former synagogue of Orb, in southwest Germany, one of the few synagogues in Germany to survive the wave of vandalism and destruction that swept the country on Nov. 10, 1938, will be used as a Protestant church, it was made known here.
