Jewish community leaders today called on the Chief of Police of Buenos Aires to protest recent “tar bombings” of the Libertad Synagogue and to demand action to apprehend the persons responsible and to protect the synagogue against further attack.
During the visit, Police Inspector-General Miguel Gamboa expressed his personal abhorrence of such “barbarous.” behavior. He noted that such activities are in direct opposition to President Juan Peron’s policy. He also outlined the steps taken to trace the attackers and to prevent recurrence of the attacks, two of which occurred this past week.
