The reparations talks here will last for at least another two weeks, Jewish and Israeli sources here indicated today.
A German delegation spokesman, Dr. A. Frohwein, expressed the opinion that the end of the lengthy sessions is “in sight” and that it will come before the London conference on Germany’s pre-war debts is concluded. However, he refused to estimate exactly when the talks would be completed.
Dr. Frohwein also stated that his delegation hoped to have instructions from Bonn before tomorrow’s plenary session with the delegation of the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany so that it could make a definite offer to settle the Conference’s global reparations claim of $500,000,000.
It was learned that as the German-Israel legal sub-committee prepared to start on the final stages of the drafting of the agreement, a German legal expert, Prof. H. Mosler, is expected to arrive here to work on the draft with Dr. Jacob Robinson, legal advisor to the Israeli delegation at the United Nations. The Israeli and German delegations today drafted separate versions of the agreements reached thus far and then exchanged drafts.
