Representations against the dismissal of Jewish workers from the tobacco factories under government control since the government tobacco monopoly were made by Deputy Wygodsky, to the director general of the Polish tobacco monopoly.
Deputy Wygodsky pointed out that Jewish workers who have been employed in the tobacco factories for a great number of years were discharged. The director general admitted that it is unlawful to discharge workers on account of their religion or nationality and promised to investigate the matter.
