Jewish groups criticized South Dakota Gov. William Janklow for his proclamation of a day of prayer that called for people to be “reconciled to the Lord Jesus.” In a letter to Janklow, the groups said government should not back one set of religious views, nor should government aid religious groups to spread their faith.
