With the danger to Palestine becoming more and more acute as a result of the military situation on the Egyptian front, Jewish leaders today conferred with Palestine High Commissioner Sir Harold MacMichael and presented to him a number of problems concerning the defense of the country and the safety of the population.

The Jewish delegation received by the High Commissioner was composed of Moshe Shertok, representing the Jewish Agency for Palestine, Isaac Ben-Zvi, representing the Jewish National Council of Palestine, and Mayor Rokach of Tel Aviv, representing the population of the all-Jewish city.
