A $500,000 gift to the new Jewish Medical Center by Mrs. Rose F. Weinberg and the late Louis Weinberg was announced here today by J. Benjamin Katzner, chairman of the Jewish Medical Center campaign.

Mr. Weinberg, who died recently, came to this country from England as a child. He was intensely interested in a variety of philanthropic enterprises and was active in behalf of the Sinai Hospital, Jewish Welfare Fund and Associated Jewish Charities of Baltimore. The gift will provide for the second floor patient area of the new Sinai Hospital which comprises 79 ward and semi-private type beds and attached nursing stations, floor laboratories, treatment rooms, kitchens, solaria and offices.
