Nathan Rappaport, noted Jewish sculptor, was decorated here with the Order Polonia Restituta, Poland’s highest award, for his monument commemorating the heroes of the Warsaw ghetto. The monument was unveiled last April in Warsaw in honor of the Jews who revolted against the Nazis in 1943.
