Jewish students from the Philadelphia area presented two Torah scrolls to representatives of the Israel Defense Forces at a ceremony in Jerusalem. The scrolls, dedicated in memory of Philadelphia native Michael Levin, were presented Thursday by 40 students of the Abrams Hebrew Academy, according to a statement from the Jewish Agency for Israel. Levin, who served in an Israeli paratroop unit, was killed in last summer’s war with Hezbollah.
