Jewish vocational service agencies in the United States and Canada last year received the largest number of requests for service, it was revealed today in a report published by the Jewish Occupational Council. A total of 53,698 persons registered for employment aid in 1947.
The survey showed that a total of 137,791 job interviews were conducted while close to 20,000 Job placements were made. The report noted the work of agencies in Boston, Buffalo, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Louisville, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Montreal, New York City, Newark, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, St. Paul, Springfield (Mass.) and Toronto.
