Two additional rooms in the surgery department of the Tel Hashomer Hospital, named in honor of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Jewish Year Veterans of the United States, were dedicated today.
In addition to Auxiliary members who came to Israel to attend the ceremony, led by Mrs. Miriam Kaplan, president of the women’s group, participants included Deputy Health Minister Yitzhak Raphael, Chief of Staff Yitzhak Rabin, Dr. Elyahu Gillon, chief of the Army Medical Corps and hospital officials.
Mr. Raphael said that the Auxiliary had aided the hospital for many years. He reported that the Government had earmarked 45,000,000 pounds ($15,000,000) to renovate the hospital which is now housed in a former United States camp barracks northeast of Tel Aviv. Mrs. Abraham Kraditor, former Auxiliary president, was honored at the opening of the two-room wing.
