Jews and Catholics should pursue interfaith humanitarian projects, Pope John Paul II told Jewish leaders. Speaking Thursday to World Jewish Congress representatives in Rome, the pope called the present a “challenging opportunity for joint endeavors of peace and justice in the world.”
