The Times reported from Vienna today that large numbers of men and women wearing official Nazi badges were calling nightly at jewish homes in the Doebling district and ordering the occupants to evacuate within 24 hours or be faced “with Dachau (concentration camp) or worse.”

Long lines of Jews were seen daily at police stations in Vienna attempting to ascertain their position, but although the authorities had promised to arrest persecutors the police profess ignorance of the reported actions. The times also reported that a large number of persons imprisoned at Dachau would shortly be released. More than 40 prisoners have already returned to Vienna from the concentration camp.
