A number of newspapers in Germany claiming to have had their information from the Hanover Kirchrode Press Bureau have published the text of an interview given by His Majesty King Carol to an American Journalist, says an official statement issued by the Government Directorate, and signed by the Secretary-General, Mr. A. Crudu. The Czernowitz papers reproduced the text of this statement from the German newspapers, the statement proceeds, adding that in consequence there was a good deal of comment aroused in the country. The Government Presidium, on being informed of this publication, the statement proceeds, authorises us to notify the local press that the interview given by His Majesty the King is far from being correctly reproduced. It is regrettable, the statement concludes, that this misunderstood reproduction has also found a place in the Roumanian press.
