Otto Klemperer, whom the German government removed from his post as chief conductor at the Berlin State Opera, because of his Jewish origin, has just completed an opera on a Biblical theme.

Klemperer was forced to leave Germany in spite of the fact that he is a convert and is married to a Gentile.
