Kofi Annan voiced hope for an imminent end to Israel’s air and sea blockade on Lebanon. “I don’t want to raise any false hopes, but I hope that in the next 48 hours we will have some news on that, constructive, positive news,” the U.N. secretary-general told reporters Tuesday during a visit to Cairo, where he also discussed the fate of two Israeli soldiers held hostage by Hezbollah.
