A goal of raising $5,000,000 during 1955 for the Israel Histadrut Campaign in this country was set here today at the closing session of the four-day 31st annual convention of the National Committee for Labor Israel.

The 3,000-odd delegates to the parley adopted a resolution noting with “indignation” that expressions of anti-Semitism in Germany “have reached ugly dimensions and demonstrate once again that German still harbors articulate and powerful elements of anti-democratic influences.” It appealed to the United States Government to “exert its influence to call the German nation to order.” Rabbi Jacob J. Weinstein, of Chicago, was named national campaign chairman of the organization.
