Labor Party Chairman Shimon Peres celebrated his 80th birthday. Labor Party leaders threw a modest party Sunday for Peres. When a journalist asked whether it was possible for him to become prime minister again, Peres said, “Do you have any doubt?” The Peres festivities will last several weeks and are slated to include visits to Israel by former world leaders including Bill Clinton, Mikhail Gorbachev and Nelson Mandela.
