Leibush L. Lehrer. Prominent Jewish Educator, Dies in New York; Was 77

Leibush L. Lehrer, a prominent Yiddish educator and author of several books on psychology and literature, died here today after a lengthy illness at the age of 77. Born in Warsaw, Mr; Lehrer came to the United States in 1909 and has been a lecturer at the Jewish Teachers Seminary since 1919.

He was director of Camp Boiberick, an educational children’s camp operated by the Sholem Aleichem Institute and a former principal of the Sholem Aleichem Secondary School. He was co-chairman of the commission on research of the Yivo Research Institute and a member of the National Council for Jewish Education.
