Foreign Minister David Levy is not allowing the heart attack he suffered last Thursday night to prevent him for conducting international diplomacy.

Levy met Sunday with the Israeli ambassador to Egypt, Professor Shimon Shamir, and reviewed with him the state of the relationship between Israel and Egypt.

The discussion was in preparation for a meeting he plans to conduct at his hospital bedside Monday with Egyptian Ambassador Mohammed Basiouny.

Levy also has been briefed by Deputy Foreign Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and has spoken by phone to Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir and other Cabinet members, assuring them he will soon be back on his feet.

Doctors at the Ha’emek Hospital in Afula said the foreign minister had suffered a mild attack and would need to stay in the hospital at least until the end of the week.
