The British press reports today that 18 surplus armored cars have been cleared by U. S. customs for shipment to Israel. (In Washington no one at the State Department or Department of Commerce knew anything about such shipments. It was pointed out that there are certain types of vehicles which do not require export licenses, and that the vehicles might be in that category.)
