Louis Leblois, Defender of Captain Dreyfus, Dies

Louis Leblois, one of the prominent figures in the Dreyfus affair, died here yesterday at the age of 73.

M. Leblois played an important role in the historic trial being one of Dreyfus’ defenders.

NATHAN STRAUS HONORARY HEAD OF NEW YORK’S U. P. A.

Nathan Straus has accepted the honorary chairmanship of the Greater New York campaign of the United Palestine Appeal.

In his letter of acceptance to Louis Lipsky, president of the Zionist Organization of America. Mr. Straus wrote: “Since my recent illness, I have had to refuse many similar requests, but in this case I am willing to make an exception in the hope that the appeal will meet with overwhelming success.”

New York’s quota in the United Palestine Appeal, which will open on Feb. 15 is $2,500,000. Judge Otto A. Rosalsky is chairman of the Grater New York campaign, with Federal Judge Grover M. Moscowitz, chairman, and Supreme Court Justice Mitchell May honorary chairman of the Brooklyn Division.
