Mahmoud Abbas can expect to win next week’s Palestinian Authority presidential election by a landslide, a survey found. According to the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research poll released Sunday, Abbas, the dominant Fatah faction’s candidate to succeed the late Yasser Arafat in the Jan. 9 election, enjoys 65 percent support among voters in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
