Max Goodman was unanimously elected Mayor of Johannesburg yesterday by his colleagues on the City Council. He was immediately installed in office. Mayor Goodman, who last year served as Deputy Mayor, is this city’s sixth Jewish mayor. He has been a prominent Jewish communal worker and his wife is active in Jewish affairs.
