Mayor LaGuardia yesterday informed the Jewish Daily Bulletin that immediately upon his return from Chicago he will personally investigate the case of Major John T. Prout, new leader of the Fascist American Concentration, Inc.
The Mayor declared that he had read with interest the Jewish Daily Bulletin story exposing Major Prout, confidential clerk to Comptroller Joseph P. McGoldrick, as “Consul” of the new Fascist group, which has a decided anti-Semitic tinge. He refused, however, to comment until he has talked with Major Prout.
At the same time, The Bulletin learned, Comptroller McGoldrick is conducting his own investigation of the activities of Major Prout.
