Mayor Robert F. Wagner today welcomed officially 97 members of the Israel Youth Symphony-Gadna at City Hall. The symphony is in the United States for a two-month tour under sponsorship of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation and Columbia Artists Management.
The Mayor issued a proclamation declaring that the Israeli orchestra was a “splendid example of the common interests which are drawing the peoples of the world closer together. ” He proclaimed the week of November 16-23 as “Salute to Gadna week. “
