The Jewish community here opened the Israel Development Bond Drive with subscriptions amounting to nearly a quarter million dollars. The response was generated by the visit of Moshe Shapiro, Israeli Minister of Religions. Local organizations are now setting up the machinery for an all out effort to equal, and even to surpass 1953, when nearly $3,000,000 worth of bonds were sold in Montreal.
