Radio Moscow charged today that Israeli troops are massing on the Syrian frontier and that the United States and Israel were plotting” an attack on Syria.
The broadcast alleged that Gen. Alfred Gruemher recently visited Israel to prepare plans for the alleged sneak assault. (Actually, Gen Gruenther, head of the American Red Cross, visited Israel to check on the status of first aid and blood plasma facilities. His visit had nothing to do with military or political matters)
