Most Israelis believe Ariel Sharon is sincere in arguing that withdrawals from some Palestinian areas are in the country’s best interest, a poll found. According to the Ha’aretz survey published Thursday, almost 68 percent of Israelis think their prime minister came up with the “disengagement plan” out of a strategic understanding that continuing to rule Gaza endangered the Jewish state.
