Mrs. Lucy S. Dawidowicz, associate professor of history at Yeshiva University, has been named to the nation’s first chair on Holocaust Studies, it was announced by University President Dr. Samuel Belkin. The chair, tearing the name of Paul and Leah Lewis, was established by a five-year, $75,000 grant. As part of the program, courses relevant to the Holocaust will be taught by Prof. Dawidowicz, who has written extensively on the subject.
