Haj Amen el Husseini, former Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, who is now in Berlin will be made the “Protector of Islam” under an agreement between Hitler and Mussolini, it was reported today in the Daily Sketch.
The article states that Mussolini will hand over to the Mufti the “Sword of Islam,” which was presented to him in 1937 in Tripoli during his tour of Libya. The “Sword” was purchased in Florence in 1937 by Italian officials and transported to Libya where Jewish goldsmiths in Tripoli were hired to engrave Arabic designs on it.
