American aid for the emigration of Jews from Rumania and Iraq to Israel will be one of the major topics of discussion at the national conference of the United Jewish Appeal which opens here tomorrow in the presence of more than 500 Jewish communal leaders from 38 states. The conference will continue through Sunday.
Major speakers at the parley will be Mrs. Golda Myerson, Israel Minister of Labor, who will report on the situation in Israel; Aubrey S. Eban, newly-appointed Israel Ambassador to Washington; and Dr. Joseph J. Schwartz, director-general of the Joint Distribution Committee, who returned this week from a fact-finding mission in Iran. Tomorrow’s session of the parley will be devoted to the work of the Women’s Division of the U.J.A. The plenary sessions will start on Saturday evening and continue through Sunday.
