The Federal Supreme Court has declared unconstitutional a law adopted during the Nazi regime 27 years ago which outlawed the practice of Shechita, the Jewish ritual method of slaughtering animals for consumption.
The court held that the prohibition of Shechita, contained in the law of April 21, 1933–one of the first anti-Jewish measures enacted by the Hitler regime–was a “Nazi measure of violence. “The court’s decision was taken during its fourth civil Senate earlier this year and has now been revealed with publication of its decisions.
